Winemaker: Mariano Garcia
Critic tasting note: "Intense, elegant bouquet with notes of dried plums, wild berries, sour cherry confit and cranberries. Hints of dark chocolate, freshly cut wood and culinary herbs. Some caramel and coffee. Ripe, juicy acidity and concentrated dark fruit on the palate. Also caramel and some nutty nuances. Fine-grained, polished tannins, long finish." - 96/100, Falstaff

- Vineyard Notes
-
Grape origin 100% Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) primarily from very old vines – 60 to 90 years old – from selected plots in La Horra and La Aguilera.
- Vintage Notes
-
Winter was warm and there were rainfalls at the end of this season. Springtime was also rainy. The budbreak occurred under damp and mild temperature conditions and only a few frosts in spring happened. June and July were warm and rainy but not in excess. August brought a heat wave followed by some temperate days and slight showers in September that were beneficial to harvest perfectly healthy and ripe grapes.

- Harvest Notes
-
The harvest was done by hand, in small boxes of 15 kilos that are thoroughly inspected, bunch by bunch, on the selection table.
- Ageing
-
Aged for 19 months in new French oak barrels. BOTTLING: AALTO PS 2018 was bottled in July 2020.
- Producer Tasting Notes
-
Very deep red intensity. On the nose intense ripe dark fruit and ink along with elegant mineral notes arise. On the palate this wine is robust, structured, and its tannins are silky and smooth. It is a long and full of nuances wine with a good ageing potential.
