Expert tasting note: "Deep, dark, almost opaque ruby-red in color. The nose displays brooding dark fruit & leafy touches. The palate is quite closed up, but displays some dark-cherry fruit with overtones of graphite. The wine is of mid-weight. The alcohol is well in balance & the acidity gives some good freshness. The fine tannins support a relatively long finish." - 10/23 DCAMW

Rainy first fortnight of winter with normal season temperature. Mild March provokes early budburst. Thanks to approximity to the Gironde, two dangerous episodes of hail in April only scarcelly affected vines of Gruaud Larose. Humid spring along with its frequent rains could have caused problmes of Mildieu but thanks to the dry conditions in July and August the danger was avoided. Vintage quality: Excellent
Current condition: Will keep
For Saint-Julien, the 2019 vintage was generally fantastic.
The growing season began slow with the spring months seeing little in the way of sun and a bit too much in the way of rain. April also saw severe threats of frost come and go as temperatures dipped to icy lows. ...
