Critic tasting note: "Aromas of French oak, Mediterranean scrub and blue flower are front and center on this vibrant blend of Nero d'Avola and Perricone. The palate is still primary and youthfully austere, offering blackberry, cranberry, licorice and tobacco alongside notes of sage and thyme. Assertive, close-grained tannins provide grippy support and a drying, clenching finish. Give it time to unwind and fully develop. Drink 2025–2036. Kerin O’Keefe" - 91/100, Wine Enthusiast

The Rosso del Conte is a faithful expression of its terroir, recalling the high hills in the heart of Sicily. On the aromatic level, Rosso del Conte never exaggerates in overripe notes, while guaranteeing full phenolic ripeness. A wine that is exuberant, vibrant, and energetic in its youth, with aging it develops a velvety touch, without losing structure and flavor.

The 2016 vintage was mostly excellent.
It was an El Niño year, which heavily influences weather systems, particularly in the Southern Hemisphere. Europe tends to be less affected.
And in Europe, France enjoyed a wonderful year. Bordeaux was excellent and could well be legendary, although more time is perhaps needed to truly ...
