Quick and homogenous flowering end of May. After a dry period in May and June, July was rainy. August was warm and moderately rainy. Average temperatures in September. Maximum temperatures of 25°C for 6 days only. Good conditions in summer and beginning of autumn generated good maturation conditions with a very good constitution.

Mittleres Rubinrot, leichte Orangetöne. Die Nase ist expressiv, weniger komplex als beim 2000er daneben, jedoch wunderschön, Kräuter, Tabak, Waldboden, Orangenzesten. Der Gaumen ist zugänglich, auf den Punkt gereift, feines Tannin, delikate Frucht, aromatisch rotfruchtig und mit einem Tick Krautigkeit im Abgang ist dieser Wein weniger druckvoll als der 2000er, jedoch aktuell mit sehr viel Trinkfluss ausgestattet. Bis 2028 geniessen. (Verkostet am 25.3.2023 im Rahmen der Gruaud Larose Degustation bei Ruedi & Silvia Hintermann)

What a perfumed, elegant, structured wine, with all the elements of fruit, wood, tannins just in the right place. It shows great tannins, powerful black and red berry fruits, denseness, and a classic, fresh aftertaste.

(2003) A light more light, perfume and complexity on the nose of this wine. Classic Gruaud-Larose hints of game and earthy, animal aromas. Ripe berry fruit. The palate has lovely quality and a tingling spiciness. Black fruits, developing a touch of cedar, and lovely balance and finesse.
