My bottle of this, purchased directly from the winery, was open for business after being opened for about an hour. While it could certainly develop from another 1-2 years of bottle age, it's drinking really well now.

Winorama with a surprise (engagement)!; 9/15/2013-9/18/2013 (Napa Valley California): The Old Vine is made up of plantings from 1978 - oldest ones that exist on Pritchard Hill. The early taste is mostly just tannin and oak, but it was just released a few days before. There's potential though - some black raspberry started to peek out after a bit of time. I'm holding judgement although hopeful that in some years it'll come all together.

Very soft and smooth, tannin fully integrated, a lot of sweet fruit, drinking very well now.

This wine is showing very little at the moment. I will wait until 2016 to try my other bottle. Hopefully time will improve this wine.
