Spicy, peppery, but for my taste much too too candied fruity to make a solid Syrah. Each sip has elements I really love, then there’s a sugary presence on the finish that just mars the overall impression of the wine. Not happy to say it, and frankly shocked, as the other Dupuis releases I have tried were lovely expressions. This one is a notable disappointment.

Drank over two days. This is still extremely tightly coiled. There is a lot of substance here, but I am putting my remaining bottle away for a decade.

The opposite of a “one note fruit bomb” wine. Complex, layered, changed throughout the evening.
