HWS Game dinner 2016 (@ RvD): Dark and red forest fruits, some earth, rustic flavors, good acidity. Not extremely concentrated. Pleasant wine. Ready now and the next few years. 86 – 87

Hue is turning brown/red, slight hazy colour. cassis and cab franc tomatoe stalk and pepper spice aroma followed by woodsy note and a faint berries. Quite tannic pepperyness and a flat mid-palate finishing slightly tannic. it is starting to fall apart but still enjoyable, although like all bordeaux not worth the money.

Garnet red. Decent evolved nose with cassis, tobacco, vanilla and some cedar, not very powerful but several layers are present. Some fruit left but acids and tannins are rather dominating. Slightly bitter peppery finish, but at the very end delicious fruit is coming through again for quite a time. Overall nicely evolved and elegant, but tannins are still somewhat dominating. 85-87

Beautiful garnet red, but disappointingly little on the nose. Also day 2 it only shows faint berries, leather and pencil. Sleek and elegant at first but turns out a bit to simple.

Anita: This had a beautiful bright purple red color; notes of mushroom, then cassis, underbrush, loam, forest and berries; good structure, but velvety, soft, w/still very firm t’s; softened up and was very nice w/BBQ ribs.
