  • I love it. David Ramey is the kind of Owner & Winemaker that I like. He spent years in working in the Old World and brought his knowledge here to mix with the CA knowledge. This bottle is prime for opening....don't wait too much longer for this vintage. Dark burgundy / brownish edges. 14.5% alcohol that give you long legs that even Old Man & Ralphie Parker would enjoy (A Christmas Story). This is a must buy at a decent price that you can't get often in Oakville.

  • Similar to prior note after a 2 hour double decant; delicious, but the high PV is noticeable & not my preference, drink or hold

  • Double decanted for 2.5 hrs, deep ruby, dark fruit, the PV (15%) is slightly noticeable, med/firm tannins, long finish; outstanding & not surprisingly more open than the 07, ready to drink, no rush

  • - Ruby color - Popped and poured. Good to go right out of the bottle, and enjoyed over three hours with prime rib. Flavors of black currant, cherries and a hint of spice. The finish lasts for days. I have a few more bottles and plan on drinking these within the next five years. Beautifully made wine.

  • Patio dinner with Neeta and Manoj (Chez Walker - Princeton, NJ): Good excuse to check in on this one. With the main course...eggplant rollatini and chicken margherita from Gennaro's. Decanted 2 hours prior to drinking.

Dark garnet color, slight separation at the edges. Ripe and expressive nose showing red fruits, raspberry, tobacco, minerals. Palate is ripe and deep...showing black cherry, rhubarb, cedar(?). Still a firm and energetic wine at 15 years. Full body, long and layered finish.

Great showing on this evening. Classic Oakville profile. Was great pairing with our Italian dishes...although a steak might have been better for this wine...:) This still has a long arc ahead of it. Great stuff

(RAMEY Cabernet PEDREGAL) Plethora Dear Friends, While not technically a plethora, I did enjoy the sound of the word so that is the title of our Friday send-off list. All below have perfect provenance and are at the lowest prices I can muster - some of the prices are pretty eye-popping. Have a good weekend everyone! - Jon Rimmerman ************************ Friday Focus Wine: 2005 Can Blau "Mas de Can Blau" (Spain) STRICT LIMIT 6/person Last year's 2004 Mas de Can Blau was a major hit (with Josh Raynolds as well) and the 2005 is even better. This is an extracted, large-scaled wine that is actually good. While I don't typically support wine like this, I think many of you will really enjoy it: ************************** 2006 Domaine de Chenevieres Chablis "Les Grandes Vignes" (Vielles Vignes) EXTREMELY LIMITED 2005 La Chablisienne Chablis "Le Preuses" (BH93) STRICT LIMIT 2/person This is in bottles - please be patient here. 1999 Friggiali Brunello Riserva 3.0lt (GR3) 350.00/1 (very rare bottle of hand-bottled Riserva from the best lot they had in the vintage) 2000 Fontodi Syrah Case Via 1.5lt STRICT LIMIT 2/person 2005 Ramey Cabernet Sauvignon "Pedregal Vineyard" 1.5lt (these are in perfect condition and have never sat on a store shelf - ever) 2006 Pierre Usseglio CdP "Deux Freres" Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Spain6320 Burg8860 Burg8870 Italy6831 Italy6832 CA8380 Rhone7410
