This is an awesome example of Gerhart’s wine making. It is still drinking well in 2022. The wine opened up after few hours to a great nose of black cherry and leather followed by a beautiful palate and finish.

Nose of dark fruit, cedar & green bell pepper, woody palate of black cherry & plum, cedar, espresso, tobacco leaf & dark chocolate sauce, well-integrated tannins, long finish. Perfect with braised pork loin, whipped sweet potatoes & sautéed green beans.

Burnt violet color with a cedar and nutmeg aroma. Firm mouthfeel with flavors of plum, blood orange, and a hint of apple. Lovely wine that is mature with big tannins. Pleasantly surprised by this 2011 vintage.
