I like some of the regular series bottlings better than this 'special' version. More roasted nuts in this than most of the others. Figs and caramelized fruits. A touch of citrus. Not all that seamless yet nothing obtrusive. It's just kinda good. Not worth the premium price in comparison.

  RWC Barbeito Dinner with Ricardo de Freitas (Piperade Restaurant, San Francisco, California): Medium brown red color with ruby lights; walnut, Brazil nut, dates, brown sugar nose; tasty, silky textured, walnut, dates, brown sugar palate with good acidity; long finish 92+ points (blend of Bual, Malvasia and Tinta Negra)

  TFS: Madeira Master Class (Tria Fermentation School): made as a fundraiser for Christ Church in Philadelphia, this is a blend of several Madeira grapes (30% Bual) with an average age of ~30 yrs. fig, caramel, and roasted almonds. very soft mouthfeel is quite pleasant. finish is smooth with only minor heat.
