A bottle purchased after it was opened in error at a tasting. It was kept sealed in the fridge for 7 days. Toasty nose. Very rich, buttery, toasty, oaky palate with some restrained lime citrus fruit and white plums. The 'soapy' fatty acid flavours detected earlier were gone within a minute or two. An excellent foil to cold poached salmon with Hollandaise sauce. Attractive, rich, complex wine.

Very rich, oaky palate with some citrus fruit but difficult to separate components of the complex palate. Butter and caramel with an attractive 'Italian hard cheese' character on the nose and palate. Some 'soapy' fatty acid flavours from the oak were detectable but these receded as it opened in the glass. Some flinty characteristics later. Needs food. 36h after opening - softer but still complex and very attractive. No hurry...... La Spinetta tasting with Rory Benham (Wine Treasury) at Grand Union Wine Society.

Empty Nesters for the first time - Open some bottles (Tom & Janet's): Light gold/green in color. The nose is mineral driven. No fruit. On the palate, it matches the nose. Its refreshing. No fruit left. No complexity. That said, nothing off either. Decent acidity. Worked with food. Still, these need to be drunk much sooner IMO.

Clean austere sweeter on the palate than the nose but very lean and a bit sharp. you notice the alcohol. Slight petroleum.

Attractive mix of musk and citrus... clear, slight gold color. Sharp finish. Nice.
