The single most unique sauvignon blanc I've ever had the pleasure of drinking. The closest I can think is Scholium's The Prince. A bit of stone fruit but mostly earth and barnyard. Nothing like New Zealand, nothing like California, nothing like any Sancerre or Pouilly-Fume I've ever had. Absolutely fascinating and an absolute steal for $13. From a pure taste/complexity standpoint it's a 90 point wine but I'm as intrigued from a distinctiveness bend at 95+

A pretty pale straw color. Fresh and funky on the nose with a slight barnyard note. Bright acid and minerals on the palate, with a slight effervescence. A nice tart, lingering finish. Delicious. Wine with this much attitude is hard to come by at this price ($14 from Chambers Street Wines). Buy more.

This bottle was very slightly corked; all of the previous positive attributes were there, but with an additional distracting funk.
