Powerful, tannic wine indeed. Initially cranberry, cassis, dried herbs, oak and chocolate. Developed into more leathery, chocolate and earthy notes with spicyness intensifying. Very robust, 15% alcohol. Needed a steak to pair with.

Dense cassis nose with spicy notes. Ripe and still fruity but the finish was too oaky for my liking. Maybe my tastes have evolved. I used to love Madiran.

On the nose good fruits - strong tannins, very oaky. Too heavy for my liking haven’t had such full bodied wine in a long while as been having pinot mainly. I will stick to lighter wines for now on.

Nose: Blueberries, gravel, roasted oak, chocolate, a bit of cherry and mint.
Palate: Big entry with high acidity, very noticeable alcohol and quite deep flavors. The mouthfilling but fine tannins then arrive and shut everything down for a few seconds. Then comes a subtle dark fruit character that gives way to a dry aftertaste with a coffee note. A few hours in the decanter did round everything off and made the alcohol and acid behave better.

Mittleres Bordeauxrot, leicht aufgehellter Rand.
