One of my favourites from Languedoc. Dark and dense purple colour, very intense nose, full of black fruits and some flowers. Pure fruit on the palate too, medium+ acidity, tannins already integrated but discreetly present. Ripe fuits cen be felt.

Yes, Virginia, there's a barnyard in the Languedoc! Funky nose blows off, revealing red (mostly) fruit, a tad cooked and figgy, garrigue, chalk, medium (+) finish. Medium/medium (+) tannins soften on the second day, balanced out by acidity and a nubbly-textured mouthfeel.
A total bargain at <$15.

Wednesday night tasting at Ruby (Ruby Wine Merchant, SF): Tasted blind: Medium body stemmy scratchy tannins. Dry. Elevated acid. Earthy. Reductive and has off aromas. Nail polish. Coin polish. Elevated acid. 12% alcohol? (actually 14.5%!) Medium tannins. Medium body.
Conclusions. Pinot noir or gamay? Quite fecal. Pinot from Burgundy. Saint Croix, Corbieres le Fournas 2012 - Carignan, grenache, syrah blend from Corbieres. 14.5% Alcohol!
