16 months since my previous review, and it's definitely more mellow. Lovely with a dinner of black beans with andouille. A pleasant little whiskey note in there now.

“Planted in 1988 with vines soured from the Il Poggione Vyd in the Montalcino region of IT; The frt is crushed, cold-soaked for 1-2 days, followed by fermentation in a combination of oak puncheons barrels, & s/s for 7-10 days @ 80-90F, then aged for 21 most in 130 gal FR oak puncheons (25% new).” 13.9% ABV; 215 cs produced @ $28 suggests retail.
N: Slightly closed; Cherries with oranges
P: LM body; Decent, almost swtish frt on front buttressed by ABUNDANT acidity which SEAMLESSLY transitions into a LONG, very slightly spicy, very, VERY slightly acidic finish. EXCEPTIONALLY well made, though I'm thinking STARTING its inevitable decline. Amazingly potent for a wine of LM body! :)

Definitely tastes a little on the young and rough side, but even so it's still very enjoyable. Nicely spicy. Will let my other bottle of this sit awhile!
