Like a thinner version of their Reserve white. I think this one is done all in stainless which explains much of that. Much less tropical fruit than their V line. Make sure not to serve too cold, somewhere in 50-55 or it mutes everything. Pale gold/straw color.

P: LM, poss Med, body; Almost swtish frt (threshold R.S.?) with fairly crisp acidity; Long, slightly toasty (?) finish with some caramelly notes. 88 pts WS & 1 of their Top 100 Values for 2016 in the "Rich Whites" Category @ $12. [This vendor is asking $9.99.]

Esporão Tasting (Proof - DC): Aromas of sea salt, minerals, lemon curd and white flowers. Such pretty texture on the palate, vibrant acidity, there’s a creaminess but such brightness and minerality. Pears, honeysuckle, flowers, sea salt. This is an exciting white wine that would pair with endless styles of food. The fact that this wine is $7 is insane. I guess Portuguese economies of scale, combined with old vines, field blends, indigenous varieties and relatively minimalist winemaking means that this exciting wine makes it to the U.S. for cheap as hell. Sipped this with five or six somms, and it was everyone’s favorite white. A blend of regional white varieties, Antao Vaz, Roupeiro, and Perrum.

A rather full bodied white with some distinctive character. Dry and meaty. Very nice with spicy grilled chicken.
