2011 Casual Session - 6 @ ES: Alcohol :: 9% Simple but quite pretty aromas with lots of sweet yellow fruits with mineral that bring forward to the rich, sweet palate that seems lack of acidity lift and support, flat and short finish, I do not think this is a good bottle. Buy - No.

Tasted quite unusual for a relatively young Spätlese. Kerosene nose and fairly dry on the palate. Not much flavor authority at all. Suspect could be an off bottle.

(SCHLOSS LISER Nieder Held SPATLESE) Mosel Saar Dear Friends, Two crazy deals on German Riesling - there may more filigreed vintages of each but not at this price. In other words, I wouldn't hesitate to enjoy either of these any night of the week. Both have impeccable provenance and are EXTREMELY LIMITED at this price. This parcel will arrive in a few weeks - local pick up around October 15th-20th: 2003 Schloss Lieser Niederberg Helden Riesling Spètlese (Mosel) 750ml (IWC/1*) Yes, this is a 2003 but it's also not $30 or more. I think most of you will ignore the vintage in exchange for a most interesting wine at this price-level. If left alone for another 6-8 years, the Helden could evolve into a low-acid dessert treat for a song: 2002 Zilliken Ockfener Bockstein Riesling Spètlese (Saar) 750ml (IWC/1*) Wait until you sniff the nose of this evolving wine - wow. Hanno Zilliken believes 2002 is not far behind 2001 in quality and I'm not going to argue with him. At this price? You're kidding, right? Maybe this could use a bit more framework but the secondary character and pin-point/citric Saar olfactory fashion show emerging from this wine make it more than worth the experiment. Nothing calms tropical fruit like age - enough said. VERY RARE in the US - this is not the widely distributed Saarburger Rausch Spatlese: Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Germ8621 Germ8622

Un cote funky, du perlant de l'abricot du caramel. Assez bien.

Grape juice. As sweet as a dessert wine by this point.

pleasant wine, but not much character. Nose of honeysuckle and apples with a whiff of diesel. Lacking acidity and a rather tepid finish.
