Decanted for 2 hours, probably needed 4. Bold aromas of violets, crushed rocks and black fruit. Complex wine that opened up nicely in a decanter and over a 2-hour steak dinner. Black cherry, anise, mocha among a number of flavors. Like the 2014 better, but still a great wine.

First of the cults for me. Decanted 75-80 min. Drank over one hour with steak dinner at restaurant Beautiful light ruby red in the glass. Surprising translucency, none of the dark opacity that I traditionally see in the big cabs. More like a (darker) California pinot. Unique nose of vanilla, red fruit, birthday cake, smokey dark chocolate. A sweetness pervades (bordering on the too sweet for me, but that’s personal taste). Complex palate of black fruit, red fruit, earthiness. The biggest surprise is how light it was overall. The fact that it’s a young ‘15 boggles the mind. Nothing like any other big cab I’ve had.
Opened this bottle for my birthday on Dec 23rd. WOTN for sure. This is the best wine I had in 2020, not sure if the fact that was my birthday made it taste better, added another + to the pros column, but it had an incredible bouquet of red, blue fruit with baking spices, maybe even a hint of chocolate. On the palate the same abundant fruit but surprisingly not over extracted. Lavish, smooth and so easy to drink. Tannins were at a perfect spot and had enough acidity to cut through the ribeye I was eating. All in, a delicious wine I'm not sure when I'll have the fortune to try again. 98
