Fresh , some funk off the top that quickly dissipated, but bacon fat and some pepper for sure on the nose but also black and raspberry fruit and earthiness on the palate , nice acidity and mouth watering medium clean finish. it’s a lighter expression than many new world Syrah, not teeth staining dark, but it’s a deep and complex, and really good. Well done , Brooke y Chase!!
Edit add:
Look, these Carhartt wines are no joke. If you are looking for a fresh alternative to a bigger massive Rhone style wine (ie Alban, SQN, Paso Robles wines) , this or any of their wines (Syrah , Grenache , merlot , cab franc or any of their blends for that matter) may hit the spot. These are lighter expressions , and I hate to let the proverbial cat out of the bag, but quite delicious food wines and more balanced , amazing QPR wines going around these days. On their Grenache while more like a 14-14.5% alc their vines are an Alban graft. 🤨🤨😀😀

Good wine, not very exciting, but better than expected.
