PNP, last minute decision. Whaddya know?! It's better than the last in 2017. Here's that one:
1/19/2017 rated 90 points: Some people like ripe oaky Cali wines and some don't... First thing you notice: a very open nose, picking up some hedonistic aromas during the vinturi decant. Next step: 30+ minutes in the decanter, then followed for another 2 hours, this bottle has notes of blackberry, plum, Cab Franc spice, and faint espresso. Sure there's oak, but I have no splinters in my teeth (like certain WA and Oz wines give me). 75% new French barrels is not over the top. Nice long finish with some noticeable but soft tannins. Very decent QPR for the region @ $38. I envy those who had access to 6 or more, my retailer...not. Now-2023. (7914 views)
I think that window is very close, it's on plateau, will hold another 2-3yrs. REALLY enjoyable right now.

Pop and pour, gave it 30 minutes glass air time. This seems fully mature with leather and plum. I sense a touch of raisin and suspect that will build with further cellar time.

Tertiary aromas to the nose but not on the palate....much better than 2 years ago....full body with lingering finish.

Great fruit bomb, still has some life left in it. I will be putting my other bottles is the cellar for a few more years.
