  • Nose of purple fruits, roobios tea, and lavender. Savory, herb-laden black fruit palate with notes of olive brine, sour cherry, red peppercorns, and bittersweet chocolate. Smooth tannins act like a pond into which the palate drops, generating rippling waves of dark cherry, sage, chocolate, and oak with the tannins turning grippy on the tongue for a long finale.. In a good place.

  • There is something about the Bedrock winemaking tree and the value that is available at the entry point. $23 and this is stunning. Savory, earthy, dark fruited, and just packed with flavor and extract, the Winds of Change is an entry level wine that drinks like a top-line cuvée. Bottled under the DIAM30 closure, that may seem aspirational (thanks for that thought David Ramey), but I think there is the necessary depth and structure to potentially test the closure. Well done Cody Rasmussen.

  • Nose of dark fruits, rubber, and chalky minerals with some alcohol. Fleshy dark plum, cinnamon stick, black cherry, acidity, and notes of root beer is quite smooth before pepperiness leads into the finish of honey baked ham, black cherry, and clay.

  • Fruit bomb! I brought this wine to a friends house for dinner. They are fans of Syrah but this was so heavy with dark fruit intensity and no acidity and little tannins to balance the sweetness. We were all disappointed, as I remember the last bottle in a more positive light. Pass!

  • Popped and poured through the aerator. Very smooth and easy drinker right out of the gates. Bit thinner than I expected from a Syrah heavy blend with lower structure for my tastes. I would expect this to be a crowd pleaser!
