  • My past experience of Heggies has always been of a solid Chardonnay without ever really impressing - this vintage feels a little different. Lime, flint, blossom, fresh pastry and a little apricot waft up on the nose. The palate is fresh and racy with plenty of cool Eden Valley character, crisp fruit definition and textbook mouthwatering acidity through a finish that demands another sip. The oak is stripped back and just lingering in the shadows. Still youthful at just shy of 5 years old, this is a Chardonnay of real character and interest. It warrants more attention.
