Opaque crimson color. Fruity nose of ripe mulberries, oily leather, ripe tomatoes, and garrigue. The smooth palate has a slight sweetness on the middle of the tongue, but otherwise remains anchored in Rhône terroir through the finish, which remains supported by residually grainy tannins. Nice enough, especially for the price (I paid $25), but this is starting to taste a bit tired and probably should have been consumed 3-5 years ago.

2000 Grenache and Rhone Blends (Rich & Peggy's House, Los Altos, CA): Generous rustic nose with a little bit of heat (A-). Simple, but yet excellent palate (B+/B++).
My #4, Group's #5 (54 pts). Tasted blind.

In a nice place right now. Elegant with mostly red fruits on the palate. Smooth and balanced.
