Decanted for some fine sediment. Was worried for the first 10 minutes, nose was a little muddy and volatile, but it cleaned up quickly with air. This is going strong with plenty of cherry fruit and baking spice. I don’t know if this is necessarily better than my last bottles nine years ago but it’s different and delicious.

Bottle #11 of 18. Ridiculously good. Still bright and deep purple red, no bricking. Great acidity, complexity, with the structure still asserting after being open three nights. Deep ripe black cherries, plenty of Oregon bramble, and beautiful precision - all in a suave, subtle and elegant package. I don't know what rickspicks was drinking, but it wasn't this. Stored since release in a quite cool cellar. This has many years to go - at least 10-12, and may go longer than that. This is still young and improving. Total score.
Not much nose, but with a nice cherry-flavored palate with spice and some herbal notes. Once again, improves for the first couple of hours and then declines. Eventually becomes a bit syrupy, sweet and ponderous. I have yet to find an 08 Oregon pinot that I thought lived up to the vintage hype.

This bottle thinning somewhat. Still excellent structural elements, but the fruit is fading. Maybe at an in between stage?
