Community Tasting Notes (8) Avg Score: 86.3 points

  • Pepper and tobacco dominate, but has good dark red fruit at its core. Has strong tannins that could still mellow with age, but not sure that pepper notes will ever relax.

  • Still bit raw. Red bell pepper dominates the palate, but the raspberry and strawberry of grenache are slowly pushing throught as long the bottle can breath-open some hours. More fruity and light that the fantastic -07, but not too light & rose-like. Very deep and delicate cotes du Rhone with stylish lenght. Good QPR with 10 euros.

  • Strawberry and peppery. Paired with Veal Scallopine, prosciutto and parmesan. Alongside roasted vegetables. Watercress, tarragon vinaigrette over fresh greens from the garden; endive and Brie, ww baguette. 100degree killer day.

  • Neighbor's summer celebration party. P&P, color not noted. Typical Rhone aromas of strawberry, raspberry, green herb, black pepper, plus mild brett. The palate is harsh and thin with red seed fruits - surprising for a Vieilles Vignes - along with bitter green herb, black pepper, and dry earth. High acid, medium level tannins are tight and a little green, with a short finish. The host of the party who was serving it commented "I don't like this one at all". I agree. RP score was 84-86, and that seems generous.
