Trivento, Luan De Cuyo region; Golden Reserve line is considered as their super premium label and believe worth to called as such; 100% Malbec, matured for 12 months in oak barrel and another 12 in bottle; was lucky to get 2007 vintage which turned to be golden and delicious one. Dark red with violet tint; wonderful dark and smoky fruit, ripe plum, cherry and forest with big oaky + vanilla aromas around, touch of spices like cloves and cinnamon - all together amazing combination for big and bold oaky wine with depth and long finish; one of best I tried. Wow to Trivento.

Tertiary aromas lead the charge with smoky, cassis, dried blueberry, and cedar. Palate shows a little more pep than does the nose, still with the smokiness, but also with cinnamon, dried raspberry, spiced-plum, and cedary/oaky tones ... But it's the finish that lets this wine down with its peppery-oaky finish with herbal characteristics that are mainly unpleasant. On the whole the alcohol comes across a little hot, especially in the mouth, and that's hard to get around - there's a disjointedness here and it's a tough one to really recommend, this Golden Reserve is a real golden dud.

The nose: dark chocolate (it dominates), leather, humus, the clarified butter, absinth or peppermint, kumquat or orange peel, the aroma of fermentation, cherry or apricot stone, red pepper, black plum or black currant, dried fruits (apples, pears, apricots and so on).
The thaste of spices, liquorice, compote of dark berries, very dark chocolate.
Drink now (better in 2011).

Drinking well. A bit tight and bitter right out of the bottle but it opened up in the glass. Still very dark. Big fruit flavours. Enjoyable.
