I have no idea why but this bottle was much better than the last. All the flavors were much more present and so enjoyable. I only have one bottle of the 2009 left and am looking forward to seeing if it represents more like the first or the second. I think I want to see how it does toe to toe with a 2012 Cuttings… Stay tuned

Nose: Big fruit, mostly blackberry and slight strawberry
Palate: Rich tobacco, leather, berry jam on the front with slight anisette on the mid and a slight back palate with a nice lingering finish.
Acidity: Fairly high
Because this is of of the first vintages of this wine I don’t believe it fully represents what is currently being sold. I also believe this has most likely been held past its peak. All that said, it was still a very nice wine and paired extremely well with Thanksgiving Prime Rib dinner.

Lots of sweet dark overripe fruit still. Backbone has faded sobits soft n a bit flabby these days. A bit monotonal these days but a good drinker still

This was really good over a couple days. Lots of creamy ripe fruit, mild spices and muted toasty cedar. Aging well.
