  • I wish I had more of this. This is just drinking beautifully right now. Lovely nose of brown spices, tar, and capsicum. Lots of dark earthy flavors on the palate, with some strong elements of tabasco, wet earth, and spices. I dont know if it has the stuffing to get to the next level for me (i.e. above 94). There is a smoothness and subtlety here that goes nicely withe the spiciness.

  • Very musty and old nose, with hints of wet forest, brown baking spices, with some tabasco and a bit of heat. Lovely fruit on the palate, though a slightly bitter finish. There is still a bit of acidity, which gives this a bit of life. But I would not wait too much longer on these (many would say they are already over the hill). Not quite as good as a few years ago =- and thus I would be surprised if it had much more than a year or two ahead of it (just thinking of my last bottle)

1-2 hours later. This is still going strong. Some tannins are now detectable. The dark brooding fruit is a bit more pronounced, and the bitterness on the finish has receded. The finish is now quite nice and sustained. I am upping the score from an 88 to a 90 now.

  • Warwick. I just love this wine. Strong nose of pencil lead, dust, with dark brooding red fruits. The palate has nice fruits (cherries, other red fruits), chewy tannins that provide wonderful structure. Not fruit forward at all – much more in the style of CF’s in classical Bordeaux. Finish is long and pleasing. I really can’t say enough about how good this wine is! After a few hours its intensity does seem to wane however, suggesting that this may be near the peak of its drinking window.

  • Drinking quite nicely. I have always liked this wine. Not too fruity. It has that nice nose of a cool cellar, wet stone, dark red fruits. The taste is quite complex with a long finish. The mid palate has some nice fruit, but there is a layer of leather and wet earth that nicely complements it. There are still some nicely integrated tannins. I would not surprised if this improved over the next 3-4 years, maybe longer (caution, I can't say I have that much experience in predicting the future development of wine, so please take this with a grain of salt......)
