Friday Night with Wagyu Burgers and Doctor Who (At home in leafy West London): Just one glass while a little preoccupied...plum / cherrystone and a bit of almond - if it weren't for the clarety nose you could almost imagine it an Italian tasted blind. Lovely structure but not the quiet claretiness I often find i'm looking for from this house.

dark purplish garnet with a bit of bricking and good body. there's a bit of funk on the nose that then lets the black plum, sour cherry, tobacco and leather come thru. generous in the mouth, a spicy streak runs from entry to finish as the still fresh and juicy fruit dances along it. seamless integration across the depth and length and polished tannins. lovely interplay of sweet and bitter notes. very long.
well-developed and likely at peak in magnum, a quite enjoyable wine that should drink well for at least a handful of years.

When last tasted I thought this was awesome - and it was also really good this time - but less profound. There was a note of plum bordering on prune in the background that grew during the evening. I am starting to think this wine was somewhat overdone in this great vintage. Lesser vintages with more age has actually pleased me more. Have a few left and will probably check in on them not too far from now

Yum. More obvious oak than I remember - lovely acid and the fruit is still present.
