PNP at Ringside Restaurant with prime rib. Due to low lighting, appeared almost black with crimson highlights around the rim. Nose and palate both split the difference between red fruit and dark fruit. Aromas of boisonbery, dark chocolate and brown sugar. Taste started out very tight, but gradually opened up to a mixture of blackberry, blueberry and tart dark cherry, with a little cassis and cola thrown in. Good acidity still present, with smooth tanins. Drink now! If we didn’t open this one at its peak, we didn’t miss by much.

Pours extremely dark and seemingly thick. Smell of black currant and raspberries. Taste strong of black currant and raspberries as well. Very smooth upfront with some lingering acidity. Tannins are still very present. While currently very good the thought was it could have used a few more years in the cellar.

Still has life left on it. Tannins are blunted but still some dark fruit with some tart cherry notes.
