This wine was nice surprise for $13.99 on sale. Had a slightly inky appearance, the nose was tremendously fruit-forward and the taste was bramble and very fruit-forward, blackberry. A touch of tannin, can't tell if this saw much oak. It sort of had the nose and taste of a Cab, but fruitier...not complaining. We liked it and the bottle was gone before we knew it; only thing I would say is I question how varietally correct this Sangiovese was. That said, for this wine, for this price, for this taste, I'm buying more. I agree with the prior notes that decanting and aeration help, and that this wine is only now coming into its own. I would think it would not have opened up much before now.

Still going strong. Sorry that it's my last bottle. Nice spicy nose, cherry cola on the palate.

Decanted and Vinturi'd.
Earthy and muscular, just a little smoky.
