Further to my Note of Sept 4, 2018: This paired well with a rich tomato-based pasta sauce. Less grapey now, still tasty, though not delicious; better with food and no reason to wait.

Bought 6b for 13/b from a local gourmet grocer seven years ago. Decanted with lighter sediment than I expected. Rich, dark color; fragrant, grapey nose; body ok but weaker than the color and nose suggested over a one-hour meal of sausage pizza. Doubt that more time will improve it, and will try again. Stored horizontally in a cool, dark basement since purchase. My evaluation: I've stopped giving scores on a "100-point scale" as I've become less convinced that they can be meaningful to others. I use a 4-category scale (perhaps with +/-)--not including flawed--which runs outstanding/notable/drinkable/poor. I considered this notable when considering quality, age, and price.

(Marcarini Barbera d'Alba Ciabot Camerano) Medium ruby color; tart cranberry, very tart red fruit nose; nice, light-medium bodied, tart cranberry, very tart cherry palate; needs 4 years; medium-plus finish

Medium full body. Some bricking on the rim. Dark fruit flavors. A bit extracted, but good acidity. Mediums tannins. Good quality for the price.
