Aged Cru Beaujolais (San Francisco): Light ruby. Mild TCA came out over time. Nevertheless, obviously an excellent wine-light, flowing, and supple with naturally sweet fruit and citrus, very good finish. A pity about it being slightly corked. I look forward to trying a pristine bottle.

Dinner at Triple Crown (Chicago, IL): Quite clean, but a distinct tomato leaf note on the nose. Savoury and earthy with lots of tannic structure, and none of the sucralose qualities that gamay readily has. The palate feels like it drops out a little though.

This may be the best bottle of wine in my cellar. It's perfect. Clearly of its place. Elevated by the velvet mouthfeel unlike any Beaujolais I've had (and I've had my fair share). If you have any, enjoy your good fortune.

Truly amazing nose of red fruit, herbs, and spice. I still can't fully describe it. Great texture and mouth feel. Fine tannins. However, very little fruit on the palate and a somewhat short finish.

Very little fruit. Mostly oak and structure. Lacking florals and freshness. Average.
