Decanted three hour. Lovely nose of black currant, gravel, mocha and lead pencil. Full bodied, rich, layered and enveloping with a long satisfying finish. This is still plenty youthful and continue to show significant unresolved tannin even after a lengthy decant.

I revisited this wine to see where it was at. I gave it a one hour decant before consuming over the next 2.5 hours. This wine needs another 5-6 years of cellaring before the secondary and tertiary notes are balanced with the primary fruit notes and the tannins will have smoothed out. The nose was dark blue and black fruit. Cassis on the taste with some violet notes. The tannins were not too drying and sharp. As the wine progressed, the secondary notes emerged and some beautiful cigar box, cedar and wet tobacco notes began to emerge. I can envision this wine becoming a 95pt. wine in 6 years.

Slow ox for 45 minutes. This is in terrific shape. Cherry, black currant, tobacco and smoke. The wine has a wonderful cherry core, shows excellent integration and length. This drinks really well now but can continue to evolve for 10-20 years.

Decanted for an hour and drank over several hours. Needs a decanting as it opens over time. Deep, lush and full bodied with dark fruit, cassis, tobacco and spice.
