Picked this bottle up yesterday at a great little Mom & Pop Enoteca in Montegrosso (outside of Asti, great shop) for 13€. On PnP, full straw toward gold color, clear and bright - think GC Chablis with 5 years on it. Nose of honey, ghee, linen, and freshly cut white floral; very pretty. By the second glass, minerals, river rocks, herbs and seaspray. Rather complex for a MT, and unequivocally quite beautiful. Malic presence on the palate, with malo elements as well. The lighter side of medium, with some stony bitterness, followed by a creamy blend of orchard, citric and slightly tropical flavors. Anselmet is always a treat, and while it's hard for me to get excited about anyone's Muller-Thurgau, this comes pretty close. Just 12,0% abv, and made with good purity and focus. recommended, drink thru 2016.

clearly not a reisling based on acid structure. Big wine with good fruit structure, long finish. Not the right pairing for scallops, watercress, fava and vinaigrette

Here's the story. Had a Muller at a trendy restaurant by the glass. I told my merchant how much I enjoyed it, especially the value. I let him sell me a $40 bottle, "top of the line", he says. There is no reason to spend $40 on a MT. I could have gotten the same from a $14 White Bordeaux or Chenin Blanc.
