  • Dark cranberry red with browning edges.

Anise, clove, fresh green cardamom, vanilla wrapped tightly in a cigar box.

Fig newton, dried currants, little cinnamon and freshly shaved chocolate.

Medium body with a creeping of tannin. This wine is on the perfect age timeframe. It is confident. But not bragging. It’s elegant but slutty.

This doesn’t need to breathe, it’s needs to scream how amazing it is.

Washington is fucking amazing and is one of my favorite areas for Cabernet.

  • Solid Yakima cab, but not particularly memorable. Full bodied, medium finish. The fruits are a bit stewed. Drink.

  • Unlike with the most recent previous bottle, I was able to let this one breathe for about two hours before tasting it. Even after two hours, the nose screamed "sheep barn", but that gradually blew off after another thirty minutes or so. On the palate, it was chocolate covered cherries, which I consider to be a good thing. Fairly rich and a pretty good finish. Seemed a little tired, which ordinarily would suggest that it's past its peak. With this wine, however, it may be in one of its valleys and approaching another peak. If I had any more (which I don't), I'd be tempted to hold off for another couple years - just to see what happens.

  • Consistent with my notes from 3 years ago. Such richness and depth, incredible cab. And still going...maybe 2-3 years of prime drinking. Awesome stuff....

  • These damned things show extreme bottle variation and/or multiple peaks and valleys (dumb phases). This one was somewhere in between - not bad, but my socks are still on. Earthiness on the nose overshadowed the fruit. Better balance on the palate, but still earthier than I prefer. The fruit was almost exclusively red cherries, but it was somewhat subdued. Nice rich texture and a solid finish. Still reasonably tannic, so it may have a few years left, unless the fruit disappears altogether. Unless it's next week, I'm guessing my next bottle will either be a religious experience or DOA.
