Zachy's La Paulee 2022 (Le Bernardin Prive): 000474. Missing the signature reduction. Quite sweet without enough acidity, backbone, nuances or raciness of this wine. Balance is good, however. Doubt this is a representative bottle. 93-94

A Magnificent Burgundy Afternoon (San Francisco): Tulip colored. Toasty, rich nose that is not oriented toward fruit. Ever so slightly reduced, but creamy, deep bitter orange flavor. Still incredibly youthful. Large boned, really grand scale. No shortage of oak, but it works. That said, I enjoyed the 2011 Perrières slightly more for its more complete absorption of the wood.

Mineral with a greasy taste, with a lasting and filling taste in your mouth. Beautiful vintage, good to drink now. Was a nice start to the evening, before drinking a Pétrus from 1998.

Not the best example of this wine, missing the matchstick signature, citrus and energy. Felt a bit tired. (000531)
