High neck fill and cork came out in one piece. Almost a mahogany color in glass. Fading rims. Earthy bouquet almost Burgundian. Good fruit on palate with lightly tannic finish. Making old bones but fading. A few particles of sediment. Drink up!

Another good bottle. Give it a 30 minute decant and the fruit emerges. Blackberry, menthol, earth. Not especially complex but quite nice to drink. Probably time to drink this one but it isn’t going downhill now.

Well, I couldn’t wait 4 years since the last bottle but I got as far as 19 months. This is indeed opening up more and although still plenty of tannins the fruit is coming more to the fore. Nice dark cherry and menthol flavors, with finish of tannins and nice acidity. I still think this is years out from optimal drinking but it is quite tasty now and certainly drinkable now. I bet it gets better though.

(Georges Dubeouf Jean Descombes Morgon) #3; COLOR-medium/dark; NOSE-flowers and fruit; violet and strawberry; like a college girls dorm room; PALATE-it's got that brightness; great weight on the mid-palate; this is a great wine; bright, fresh; for $15 bones, this is a screaming value; moderate tannin; relatively bright acidity with beautiful mid-palate richness; and a great grip; GV-89+

This one surprised me! Drinking really well now. Lots of depth, complex nose, and long finish.

Still drinking well but I am afraid it has peaked as the aromas and flavors have decreased a bit.
