  • Gorgeous wine. Lovely streak of flinty minerality, broad acidity, honeyed rich fruits that are kept lean by the structure of the wine.

Really nice and will age effortlessly.

  • With John G and Brandon at Turner House. Decanted for 2h then back into bottle. Note is 6h after decant. Lovely aromas of minerals, tart apples, honeysuckle and unripe pineapples. Tart apples on palate with lemon, loads of minerals, flowers, unripe pineapples and a bit of bitter pith. Excellent acids. Lovely lime and mineral finish. This is so good now but I can see this evolving more with time and prob up to age 20. Open next bottle in 2-3 years if I can keep my hands off. 93+, maybe 94

  • 100% Riesling from the 4-hectare Hühnerberg vineyard, of which Müllen owns 2,5-hectares - partially planted to very old, ungrafted vines. 12% alcohol. Tasted blind in a tasting of sixteen dry 2010 Rieslings.

Medium-deep honeyed yellow color. The nose exhibits some rich, honeyed tones, but also a rather noticeable streak of mildew and cardboard. The wine feels medium-bodied, racy and dull on the palate with the unmistakable streak of TCA.

Corked. Unsurprisingly the wine received no points from the 16 participants, making it finish on shared 14th (ie. last) place.

  • Slightly better than last time! Georgous nose of amber/yellow tropical fruits, apple, dried honey and a stoney notes in the background, palate is expressive and ripe, but far drier than the nose would lead you’d to believe, high acidity and a really nice long finish!

  • Great great stuff. Some palate weight and honeyed notes showing a few years of age, but the acidity is electric. On the nose there's a bit of honeyed richness and tropical fruit but also intense grapefruit pith, which shows as an intriguing slightly bitter (in a good way) mineral note on the palate. The acidic brightness on the palate is intense too but it plays against the palate weight, which acts as a counterbalance. Resolutely dry and super refreshing, but also a wine of real substance. Has the bones for long aging, I would think.
