It’s a long time ago I’ve tasted this wine and I like more now than 11 years ago. The fruit is holding up well, is subtle and gentle, and there are lovely sous bois notes as well. This is very calm, relaxed. Not as pumped and pretentious as I thought many years ago.

Just a quick taste at a holiday party. This was well past peak, with mild red fruit notes and a boatload of brett. A strong contrast to the fresh, almost backwards 2001 Beaucastel tasted alongside it.

This is a young 18 year old wine. Still has a lot of fruit. No significant brown on the edge. Full mouth feel. Soft tannins. Long finish. Grenache and Mouvedre seem to dominate the flavor profile. Great food wine. Slight stewed prune on the nose. We think this has at least another 2 to 3 years of prime drinking.

Very much in the house-style, quite full and rich, but good freshness remains throughout, more so than in the Chaupin; fully mature, not going anywhere, drink up within a couple of years. #babylamb#DK-Eire

4th of 12. Spicy mushrooms, undergrowth and prune fruit. Somewhat vegetal on finish with pronounced tannin. Drunk with veal liver and onions, nothing special. 3+/5

(Domaine de la Janasse Chateauneuf-du-Pape) Just soaring out of the glass .... wet earth, raspberries, blackberries, herbs de provence, wildflowers, minerals. Really floral. Gorgeous. Soft and lush in the mouth but as you are swishing you can tell there is alot of material there. Glyceril and fat yet so elegant as the flavors weave down to the back of your throat. Blueberries, soft red fruits. Soft, grainy microtannins make their presence known but in no way interfere with the other components. Nice sweet CDP fruit. So suave, silky and refined.
