Entering maturity, there is still an upside to storage for more tertiary notes. I think the wine has the gumption to go too. Slo ox'ed for 3hrs at cellar temp. Served without decant.
Color is dark purple fading to a bricked rim, intense. Aroma is pronounced, and intense. Black currant black cherry, mint, oak, dusty chocolate/earth, and fermented tobacco leaf. Complex and inviting. In the mouth, the wine is full body, high alcohol, big mouthfeel. I get full glycol sweetness- lots of black cherry liqueur, combined with some silty tannins that really dry things out. The wine has the balance of a teeter-totter: one side with an elephant, opposite- another elephant. Flavors match the nose in intensity and description, you really feel that dusty cocoa though- the wine seems to be in a real happy spot as of now. Drink or hold in the next 10 or so years, well made.

To add to the observations of others: this wine is still going strong at 2023, and can definitely be kept for longer if desired. The most interesting thing about it, to me, is how the taste/flavor profile changed over time. Don't forget to decant; there is a fair amount of sediment.

From a half bottle.
Still driving very well. Balanced fruit and sweet oak. A few years left but excellent now.
