First of a case of six. Despite its age of nine years, this is still very primary and shows blue fruits, dusty minerals and violet florals. Supple, well structured and balanced and with considerable depth, I am curious how this will develop and taste in five years.

Really intense purple black colour, holding colour to the rim. Nose is very tight, black fruit and spice, perhaps a touch of liquorice. That tight knot of black fruit and spice is maintained on the palate. There's good acidity and plenty of tannin there as well. I had this wine open for three days but it still hadn't yielded much, so I feel it probably needs a few more years to come around. There's certainly plenty of potential. Apparently Poeira is Portuguese for dust.

Very big red and black fruit, dry finish. Moderate length. This seems young, but after being open two days started to taste the beginnings of oxidation. Not sure this will last more than the next few years.....

Deep purple and red fruit, dry finish, full bodied, at its apogee. Drinking great now.
