  • Bought this in a corner store while waiting for a ferry, mostly out of curiosity and an effort to support the local economy. The previous reviews and ratings on here had me concerned, but it's actually a pretty decent wine. It smells like cherry, blackberry, strawberry jam, cedar and smoke. The taste is dominated by abundant cherry, along with candied cherry, oak and campfire, and hints of blackberry and vanilla. It had a bit of heat on the finish that went away after being open for an hour. It wasn't too tannic or tart on the palate, but it was a bit acidic when it hit the gullet. Paired well with pasta.
