With Freaks at #Barrel Wijnlokaal: rich, complex, mineral silex. Much more exciting than the Brand K 2007. Lots of life ahead. Concur with DRWINE below

Beautiful, shining gold in the glass. A nose for dreaming, extremely expressive, with pineapple, vanilla, some freshly cut grass, a bit of petrol. Fantastic. Silky smooth on the palate, full-bodied, Boxler-typical outstandingly rich, but by no means heavy, with pineapple, lime, tangerine, orange peel; perfectly balanced, addictive sweet-sour play, so joyful, but at the same time serious and precise. The slightly bitter, mineral finish goes on for minutes and leaves a pleasant tingling sensation in the mouth. This is still youthful. Sensational, grand Alsatian Riesling. Drink now and over the next two decades or so. Stunning. 17.5/20

At first, I was surprised by the honeyed note, but it meshed well with the stone fruit and slight diesel on the palate. More of a perceived sweetness than an actual sweetness to the wine.
