Cork very moist but extracted intact. Flavors pleasant but rather undeveloped first evening. Next day the nose and flavors were becoming more developed and forceful. On third day everything was starting to sing. A lovely, mature vintage port with long plateau ahead.

A birthyear wine which continues to outperform expectations. Light ruby, almost transparent. Bricking on the edges. Toffee, oranges and some cherry on the nose. Balanced and medium-bodied, with coffee and candied fruits on the palate, and a long finish

Wine was properly stored from purchase in 1970 until consumed. Cork was rotted, 3/4 of the wine leaked out. What remained was clear with an orange tint. Surprisingly, it had a good port bouquet and a taste closer to port than expected. Not like it might have been, but surprisingly drinkable given the circumstances.

VERY LITE COLOR, ORANGE. ELEGANT NOSE. GOOD FRUIT ALCH BALANCE BUT FRUIT IS LESS THAN ALCH. IMPROVED WITH AIR. DELICATE, FEMININE, ELEGANT PERFUMED SYTLE. LENTHY COMPLEX FINISH. OVERALL - WELL PRESERVED WITH GOOD BALANCE

(Sandeman Porto Vintage) Light medium brown color with clear meniscus; light coffee, toffee, orange nose; tasty, delicate, silky textured, toffee, light coffee palate with good acidity; long finish (decanted for 4 hours)

This port is 60 years old. Same as me. The cork was up a bit so it was time to drink. Sweet, no tannins, great nose, a bit raisiny but very enjoyable
