Remarkable, at the top, great seconday notes. The wine looks straw colored. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like toast and hazelnut. The body is medium/full. The wine finishes long.

Fuller and riper than the 2010 Goutte D'Or from the same producer, but offering less elegance and minerality. Intense gun smoke on the nose with white stone fruit, melon and a hint of tropicality. Medium-full bodied with intense flavours but a little down in acidity compared to the excellent 2010's which offer greater length and refinement. A good premier cru Merusault showing the typicity of the ripe 2009 vintage. Approachable now but with 1 year or two bottle age the smokeness of the oak char should be better integrated and less dominant.
