Those nose is a real trip, offering macerated almond, lemon sorbet, wet grass, pineapple juice, slate and flint minerality, vanilla bean and wet pavement. Medium bodied, it has a marginally lush sensation that belies the racy and sharp acid, though the two find harmony. Bright lemon, lime and orange zests feature on entry, followed by mango, pineapple, Granny Smith apple and sweet vanilla curd. It finishes juicy salty. What a cool and compelling wine. I doubt this will improve.

Evening at Charles: I first opened the bottle and thought it was too old but the wine really needed aeration, and gave really more and more along the night, opened it 5 hours prior to tasting and then put back in the fridge. Nose of apples very ripe, and baked apples, honey, bee wax, so yes evolution but the palate is vibrant and crisp, lively wine, good length, every body finds the Chenin, well done guys... great tension, and length, great wine, even though I am not so into the evoluted nose... Great with the Comté and the Ginger Chicken Terrine... Hurra

Seems as if I had a different experience to most but thought I'd leave a note in case others have similar experience. In the low light of the restaurant this wine looked dark, almost orange. The nose was full dried fruit, raisins and spice, almost reminiscent of port. Rich body with a crisp acidity at the end.
