Enjoyable to revisit this Rousseau Chambertin 2011. We drank the last bottle early Jan 2020 - in pre-Covid times. So happy that we can again and still enjoy the fragrance of the nose. A bit of meat and earth with good acidity. Many more years to go but in a great place now. Definitely no green or unripe notes here - an excellent 2011.

During a Paulee dinner, so only brief impressions. Very nice showing, early drinking window. Elegant, precise, with whole clusters, complex. Very popular at the table tonight..

DJCV wine. Lighter and more ethereal than the 14 tasted side by side. Profound floral elegance. This wine may lake the immense backbone of the 14, but is extremely pretty to drink now. Seems more polished than 14.

Decanted 30 minutes. Pure nose of dark cherry, red florals, dark chocolate. It’s medium to full weight, with enormous depth of material here. Accessible, but you get the feeling the best is many years away. The nose keeps you coming back. Opens more with time in the glass. Delicious, in a dark and brooding way (as has been noted already).

Aroma of meat, game, leather. Good acidity. Deep and broad. But medium flavor intensity. Still too young to drink now.
