  • Final bottle from a three bottle lot purchased from a German merchant in 2012. Showing well, very good vigneron and vineyard typicity, tart citrus and peach, flowers, minerally intensity, elegant bitters, but the warmth of the vintage reflects itself in a certain lack of precision, especially on the slightly fuzzy finish. Drink up if you have any.

  • Second bottle from a three bottle lot purchased from a German merchant in 2012. Last tasted in December 2019, when it was attractive but not very precise and a bit soft. This bottle seems a bit livelier and zestier (lemon, orange), but the waxy warmth is undeniable and there is a hint of petrol too. The finish is a bit light and short. I really love the style of this estate, but objectively this good rather than great. Drink soonish.

  • Sweet and welcoming nose with lots of honey, ripe pineapple and a touch of grass. This is reflected on the palate, lots of yellow fruits, some lemon pie, overall not as acidic and fresh as I would have thought. Still great though!

  • Reflects the warm vintage in the relatively soft acidity and the delicately honeyed, slightly fuzzy character of the wine. In this sense, it reminds me of Dönhoff's Hermannshöhle 2011, which also lacked its usual crystalline precision and longevity. There a bit of heat on the finish. A good GG, but it lacks the finesse and freshness for a higher score. Drink now and over the next 2-3 years.

  • The wine has a soft golden color. Tropical fruits in the nose. On the palate apricot, pineapple, grapefruit and passion fruit. Medium+ bodied with a medium acidity. Definitely a warm vintage Riesling. Good concentration and depth - could use some more freshness. Nice medium long finish. A very good Riesling which is already on its climax in my opinion so better drink up within the next 3-4 years.
