The terroir of the Catalayud comes through. There is less "robustness" on this wine when comparing it with the tempranillos of the Rioja and Ribera del Duero regions. I find it "earthier", with almost a French-like manner in the mid-palate/finish.

- Crimsom color and aromas of black pepper, chocolate and tobacco. It's lacking fruit and has flavours of tobacco, chocolate, smokey, coffee and oak with a medium body - Not overly fruity or spices, mellow in the mouth, but a bit of oak and coffee bitterness as it passes over your tongue and down your throat. Decent for the sub $10 price.
